Tech Superstars
Tech Superstars is a computer literacy and technology access and education program for school-age youth, especially those who have limited access to computers. Through the program, young people learn basic computer skills and receive introductory to advanced instruction for a variety of hardware and software. Participants have daily access to fully equipped computer labs with internet access as well as educational and creative computer programs, which they can use to help them complete school assignments or develop and expand their skills.

Kid's College
Kid's College
Kid’s College is a web-based software which provides youth with skills practice in mathematics, language arts, and science through engaging instruction that integrates technology, sports and video games. It also provides testing that helps determine the students’ skill levels, what their strengths are and in what areas they could use additional help and tutoring. The program automatically adjusts to match the skill level and need of the individual child providing customized learning experiences. Highly affordable and accessible, it minimizes the number of resources needed to run effective youth development programming. Through this program, students develop the tools and skills they need to go to college and start careers thus helping their families get out of poverty.

The SurfRider Foundation is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of oceans, waves and beaches through a powerful volunteer network. The Huntington Beach/Seal Beach Chapter aims to raise public awareness of environmental issues affecting their local oceans and beaches. Their initiatives focus on conservation, volunteerism, research and youth education funded solely by fundraising and donations. Below are two projects that will help your local SurfRider Foundation Chapter meet their goals.

This volunteer-based program helps restore native vegetation by removing invasive and exotic plant species from local dunes in the Huntington Beach/Seal Beach area and planting native species better adapted to the environment.

Beach cleanups are fun, easy and important volunteer initiatives that help keep Huntington Beach/Seal Beach area oceans and beaches clean. The Huntington Beach/Seal Beach Chapter coordinates vital beach cleanup events at 20 local beaches throughout the year.

The Neighborhood Revitalization initiative transforms neighborhoods using a holistic approach, providing assistance to low-income homeowners with a broader goal of improving the entire community.   Following the well-established Habitat for Humanity model, homeowners and family members contribute Sweat Equity hours and work in partnership with Habitat staff and volunteers.

Brush with Kindness in El Rio area in Oxnard
A Brush with Kindness is an exterior home preservation service that offers painting, landscaping, and minor repair services for homeowners in need. This program helps low-income homeowners impacted by age, disability and family circumstances, who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes.  The work in Oxnard will take place inside the El Rio area. Many of these residents struggle with maintaining their homes due to financial and/or physical constraints. With the use of caring volunteers, the program will relieve seniors of tasks they are no longer able to do while enhancing the neighborhood overall.

We're moving Verizon FiOS from the living room and man cave to the streets, beaches and sidewalks of SoCal with our VW bus, Jeep Wrangler and Fleet Truck. We've outfitted these vehicles so you can demo the power of Verizon FiOS.
